Being a radio reporter, friends ask me "Hey, what kind of recording equipment should I buy?" Usually, they want to record their 97-year-old granny's voice or get their dad telling some funny story. Since reading John Rabe's email, my answer's been: the iPhone. John's CF's executive producer - and host of Off-Ramp - and he sent this email out to the office:

Also, for those of you who won't get an iPhone because AT&T sucks, the new iPod touch, which is due out in a few months, is rumored to have a built-in mic and recording capability! I'm planning on getting one so I'll give you a user-review on it then.
